Mom Demands $1K per Month From Her High-Earning Son To Keep up Her Luxurious Lifestyle, He Refuses

Am I in the wrong for refusing to give my mom $1k/month to save her dream house, even though my household makes over $1M a year?

The Background I (30s M) grew up in Europe. My mom is solidly middle class but got lucky with real estate, inheriting a city apartment and a large suburban plot. Years ago, my stepdad paid to build the raw structure of a house on that land (~1/3 of the total estate value). My mom paid for the interiors.
The house is legally 100% in her name in a very expensive, highly desirable area. She uses rental income from her inherited apartment to afford the upkeep of this massive house. (To be transparent, she did use this rent to help with my living expenses during my Bachelor's, which I appreciate).
The Dilemma My mom and stepdad divorced recently but awkwardly still live together. It's toxic and she wants him out. I agree he should get something for his initial build contribution, so she plans to give him her inherited apartment (or sell it for a cash settlement).
The reality of her divorce is that losing the apartment means. losing her rental income. Without it, she simply cannot afford to maintain the big suburban house and her lifestyle.
Her Demands She has a completely viable, debt-free solution right in front of her: sell the massive house, buy two smaller apartments (one for her, one for her ex), and live comfortably within her new means.

She refuses. She feels entitled to keep her luxury lifestyle, the large garden, and the prestige of the neighborhood. Instead of accepting a reasonable downgrade, she expects me to step in and replace her lost income. She is asking I give her $1,000/month indefinitely (likely for the next 25-30 years) just so she doesn't have to move. She justifies this by saying the house will be my inheritance anyway, so I'm just "protecting my asset."
My Situation My wife and I live in a US VHCOL city. We are high earners in tech (~$1.2M HHI), but we started from nothing, paid off massive student loans, and have a >$1.3M mortgage on our condo. We intentionally didn't buy a house because they are astronomically expensive here and we refuse to be house poor. We have an 8- month-old (daycare is
$3,500/mo) and want another kid. While our income is high, our burn rate is too. In the current volatile tech climate, we feel we are 1-2 layoffs away from a crisis. My priority is aggressively saving and investing for my immediate family's future, not funding my mom's luxury.
The Conflict If my mom were facing poverty, I'd help without hesitation, but she isn't. She is a multi-property owner refusing to live within her post-divorce means. Technically, I can afford $1k/mo, but a 30- year financial obligation to subsidize a luxury lifestyle she can't afford on her own feels entirely unreasonable.
AITA for telling her to sell the house and live within her means instead of asking me for a 30- year allowance?
